Costume Hire
Chads is renowned for its award-winning costumes. One of the largest costume hire departments in the North West of England, it is staffed by members who advise and serve customers. Whatever the era, century, or theme, we offer an extensive range of costumes covering any period from medieval times up to the present day. Need that perfect Elizabethan gown for a ball? A snappy 70s suit for a party? Come and browse our collection. All members of the public are welcome.
Costumes can be hired by individuals and groups (subject to availability). It is also possible to pre-book costumes for specific events such as plays and fancy dress parties.
Opening times: Sundays 10.30am – 12.30pm.
Closed over Christmas and New Year, Easter, July and August. By appointment only in June. For updates, check our Facebook page.

The costume hire department is located at the back of the theatre, and accessed through the stage door and up two flights of stairs. Please email ahead if any adaptations may be needed and we will try to accommodate you.
Props Hire
Chads Theatre hires out a variety of props to other theatres only. If you are looking for a specific item for any production please contact us.
